Answer: Not with GP alone. GP has no built-in ability to calculate different commissions based on where an order is shipping. If you want a different rate to apply when a customer’s order ships to Ohio versus Australia, you’re figuring that out manually… unless you use Commission Plan.
In the Commission Plan customer window, you can set commission rules at three levels: the customer as a whole, a specific customer and ship-to address combination, or all of the above plus a specific product group. Each level can have its own rep assignments and calculation methods, and Commission Plan applies the right one automatically on every transaction.
Example: You have a customer who places web orders, and those orders ship to an Ohio address you’ve set up in GP as a ship-to ID. You want a specific rep to earn a specific rate on those orders only, and a different rate to apply to everything else from that customer. Set it up once in Commission Plan, and it runs automatically from there.
And, if you need help with initial setup at scale, we have tools that can make the process fast and easy for you.
